It’s well worth lovers of water sports seeking out an active weekend at Abádszalók, where there are a number of exciting sporting events for active recreation. During the summer there are several sailing competitions, the most important of them being the National Finn Dinghy Sailing Regatta as well as the Round-the-Bay Sailing Tour Contest for the Lake Tisza Blue Ribbon.

For those who want to spend their leisure time in action, there are the beach volleyball and football pitches on the sand, where you can pit your strength. Take a walk where the warm sand and the cool foam of the water meet, or bask for hours on the sandy beach, letting the exceptionally fine grains unique to the Tisza flow through your fingers.

Beaches and baths

Lovers of sunshine and beaches will find all they need on the gently sloping beaches of the lake (at Tiszafüred, Abádszalók, Nagykörű, Poroszló, Sarud, Tiszanána-Dinnyéshát, Kisköre).

The open waters of the beaches are regularly tested according to European standards. In recent years, the water of Lake Tisza has been of impeccable quality. You can find the results on the Internet and with the ADAC agency.

For those who love the water, there are days of excitement at the lido at Tiszaújváros, with its surf-bath, mixed height winding water-slides and countless other surprises. Summer holidaymakers can find medicinal and thermal baths and liidos along the lakeside and the surrounding area at Tiszafüred, Polgár, Heves, Tiszacsege, Tiszaörsfürdő, Karcag, Mezőcsát, Berekfürdő and Kunhegyes.
