Active tourism
The Lake Tisza Region offers numerous opportunities for those seeking active recreation.
The special natural qualities of Lake Tisza are worth discovering from the canoes and rowing boats on hire at the jetty. Using this means of transport you will not disturb the bird life and be able to watch, among other birds, the bright blue kingfisher symbolic of the region, the great heron, the common heron, and flocks of duck. You will come within touching distance of the lake’s unique plant life – the fields of water-lilies and nymphia peltata as well as the islands of water-chestnut covering much of the surface.

If you are a lover of water sports you will find that Lake Tisza meets your expectations, with designated areas for jet-ski, water-skiing, water bananas, water-cycles, water balls and slides in the Abádszalók and Sarud Bay.
Take a pleasant ride along the cycle-track around the lake. No struggle against inclines here; just an easy pedal, taking in the peaceful villages, the nature conservation areas and the conquest of the cycle track on the crowns of the dykes. Moreover, the area offers a number of horseback adventures, with short rides combined with picnics, longer treks from a couple of days to a week in length and horse-and-cart rides across the countryside.
