The State Health and Medical Officers Service regularly checks water quality at the Tisza Lake strands. The results of examinations they do in their accredited laboratory are always the same: based on criteria found in regulation MSZ. 13690/3-1989, the water is of excellent quality for swimming.

Abádszalók -- this is one of the most active settlements to be found at Tisza Lake. The “Abádszalók Summer” event series features cultural, artistic and sports programs for visitors to enjoy. These events are mostly aimed at younger visitors who like to have an active beach atmosphere in the daytime and a lively nightlife. At the strand there is a giant slide, rental of water sports equipment, a jet ski course, countless bars, snack bars, and restaurants as well as a temporary water football pitch. On the beach, which is sometimes grassy and sometimes sandy, rental of sun umbrellas and lounge chairs is available for the comfort of our guests. A specialties here are the water bobsled, the water banana, and parachutes as well as a hot air balloon which flies above the lake. In the village there is a thermal bath as well.

Tiszanána -- Tiszanána is the heart of the Tisza Lake and 5 km from the village in Dinnyéshát there is an open are strand for the romantic at heart. This "Dream Beach" has for a long time enjoyed cleanliness and quietude. The beach itself is cordoned off by barriers while the sunbathing terraces, walking paths, and boat marina work in harmony with those who came to relax. The islands which stretch out in front of the strand are great for sunbathing and can be reached on a small hand-controlled ferry. There is tent space and a restaurant at the strand.

Sarud -- the beach at Sarud is home to the most classic Lakeside swimming area in the region. Although its infrastructure has remained behind the others, it is still a favorite of swimmers because of its natural water and smooth sand. The Sarud Basin is an excellent place for fishermen and nature lovers to discover the area by boat. The people who love Sarud the most are the ones who love the countryside and calm surroundings and who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Poroszló -- we suggest the shallow, quickly warming beaches of Poroszló for families with children where the playground and the tree groves stretching out on the grassy sunbathing spots offer a great sense of relaxation for swimmers. There are water facilities at the strand as well as a snack bar and rental of sports equipment. There are a lot of fine restaurants and "csárdas" on the streets of Poroszló where guests can taste the delicious Tisza fish specialties.

Tiszafüred -- this is the center of Tisza Lake and is the city of holiday resorts. The city strand is located on one of the naturally high banks of the Tisza and has a huge grassy area for sunbathing. The strand has water facilities, open-air showers and a nonstop grocery store. Restaurants and snack bars circle the strand and at night magically become the center of nightlife. There is also a thermal bath in the city as well. For accommodation, there are a number of places to choose from in the resort part of the town.

Nagyköru -- the strand in Nagyköru is one of the largest sandy swimming spots on the Tisza River. When the water is really low, one can see the classic sand bars that stretch out into the river so young and old alike can safely cool themselves often the water. In the summer, there is a thatched roof snack bar and the campsite on the beach. The country's largest continuous cherry orchard is located in Nagyköru.
